Speech and Language Therapy

Do you have concerns with what information your child is understanding and expressing? Is it difficult to understand your child's speech? Are you worried they may have difficulty interacting with others appropriately?

Speech is a very complex process that doesn’t come easily for everyone. At Earthshine, we take an individualized approach with each patient. Our SLPs not only believe in an evidenced based-approach, but also take the time to make each speech session an opportunity for patients and families to learn how to target speech goals.

Some signs your child may need a speech and language evaluation:

  • Poor attention to person speaking

  • Limited babbling/low variation of babbling

  • Small amount of words expressed

  • Echolalia (repeating sentences back to you)

  • Difficulty being understood by others

  • Limited ability to form a sentence

  • Inconsistent errors in speech

  • Difficulty following directions/processing information

  • Scripting (repetitions of phrases from movies/shows)

Here is a "red flag" resource that may help determine the need for a speech and language evaluation.
